White bacteria ?

Hi,

I presume it's bacteria floating at the top of the new tank, is there any product safe for shrimp I could use to stop it?

If its fuzzy its moldy food if not and it's a film you need more air/current in your tank along with more water changes

OK well I logged on to the forum after doing a water change so its not visible now but it doesn't look like mouldy food plus there were snails in there and I know from the times lapse videos I made of them for the YouTube channel they'd have scoffed it by the time it would be mouldy. I'd say it did look like my other aquarium when I first got it occurring issues. Is there any anti bacterial product available?

Don't add anti-biotics to an aquarium unless the fish have a known bacterial infection that hasn't responded to normal medications.

Improper use and mis-use of anti-biotics has lead to drug resistant bacteria that kill people, animals, birds, fish and reptiles.

If there's gunk on the surface, do big daily water changes and gravel clean the substrate to remove it.
