#40## one just sold yesterday on ebay for £90 aswell only 6 months use im not ready yet so never made an offer have you looked on aquarist classifieds theres been a few on there for £80 in the last couple of days

Yeah thats where this one is off.

Is it really a big problem that its been running on salt water?

Cant I just give it a good clean up and replace the media? It doesnt need to be cycled as I already have an internal filter on the tank which is partly cycled - this is just an extra filer to add to the filtration capacity as the U4 is only doing 4x per hour.

Aye I think some boiling water and a good scrub should make it alright. Will boil the meida too and replace any that might need it. Will go with it and give it a go.

Well I have picked it up, but wont get it home until the weekend as am away now.

Didnt realise the size of these things! Its all set up with the UV plumbed in too and ready to go. Just need to give it a good clean out. Hope it fits in the cabinet under the tank!

there huge like a dustbin aint they?

Got it home tonight and got it all hooked up - I can't beleive how little noise it makes (hardly noticeable at all - air pump makes more noise than the FX5 does!).

Just about fits in my cabinet too which is good. Loads of crap came out the pipes when I started it up, but its clearing REALLY fast, so its doing its job - I have the U4 turned off too at the moment, so its all being done by the FX5. Very pleased with the purchase, esp considering it has the UV on it and is full of media - I soaked it all in tap water to kill off the bacteria from the reef tank it was on and gave the baskets and inside of the canister a good scrub, so I am hoping it will all be ok.
