ive been reading online about the different features on the eheims. I was planning on getting the classic 2213, but as ive been reading it seems as though the eccoo 2233 has many more convienient features for only a little more money. im looking to spend less than $100 u.s. for everything media, filter and shipping if possible.

Does anyone have any opinions on this? or a cheap website to get these filters?

i am getting a 50-55 gallon u.s.

thanks

i use a fluval 304 for my 55 gallon. cleaning is easy. it puts out a good flow. might want to consider that. you can get them on sale for around 80 bucks and thye come with the media to put into the 3 level basket system. my only complaint: the tubing is corregated so it collects a lot of junk. you will want to clean the tubing when you clean the cannister. the media that comes with it is a 2 stage, 4 piece foam type insert set, 3 bags of charcoal, and 2 bags of the bacteria bedding popcorn stuff ( ceramic). you can even get the 404 for under 100 bucks.

I love everything about my Fluval 104 except one thing - the corregated tubing really gets gunked up with orange slime very quickly!

thanks, but ive found the eheim 2213 for $65 or $75 +shipping with the media included. so i think im going to go that route, unless someone knows of a problem that i dont?
No, the next filter I buy will be an eheim.

I have Eheim 2213 and it seems to be very good. It was cheap but still ok. I have been told that Eccos aren't so excellent and they go blocked so easy.

Still you need to buy double tap connectors for 2213 or it's very hard to clean. Here is couple blasting pictures:

And if the package doesn't contain connectors, you "need" two of these: http://www.aquaristikshop.com/cgi-bin/neu/...Oxf0ldbF9DChRQ6 Then the 2213 is very easy to clean.

But are they enough in your tank? I would put some internal filter too and thinking to buy bigger external (2215/2217/2026) or consider to install HMF instead of buying expensive external filter: http://www.tomgriffin.com/aquasource/matte...tenfilter.shtml
