Hi guys,
wonder if u can help...
ive had tropical fish now for about 15 years,
the tank is getting a bit old and tatty now so im looking to get a new one
the gf also wants the tank in the living room (currently tank in spare bedroom)

thing is im not too sure which tank to get.
The tank I have at the min is an Islander which is about 70 litres 60x40x30

Id like something a bit bigger due to the fact i have a couple of nice clown loaches which are growing
Id prefer to keep the 60 dimension the same and go bigger on the height and depth.

Had a look at the juwel rekord... the nearest being the 70 but this I think is a little small
especially with the filter system box in the corner.
What does look really nice is the Fluval Osaka 155 although the price is somewhat high.

Is there anything between these two that i need to be aware of ?
Plus out of interest has anyone got a Osaka 155 .. and would u recommend ?

cheers

Osaka 155 - i own one of these in my dreams  , there is a member with one, probably more but i remember this one cos he had nice wallpaper  i`ll look for a link to it then post it for you to have a look at. infact theres been a spate of people buying new tanks recently,so there will be no shortage of recomendations, will also depend on weather you are willing to shop online, you can cut a lot of the "middle man" costs this way..
anyway i`ll go and have a look see if i can find a few links to guide you... oh and welcome to TFF by the way :) always lovely to see a new friendly face :)

shelagh xxx

probably enough in those 3 to persuade you either way, but ask any questions that you may have and everyone will be more than happy to help :)

maybe they would be good enough to reccomend websites that make/deliver too Markandhisfish just had a new one a few posts down ( hes really happy with the whole service that he had)
post is here .. <a href="http://www.fishforums.net/content/Tropical...67/It-Here-Yay/

Hi minxfishy - thats the site that i first saw the osaka 155 ... looks real nice .. ideally though im looking for something a bit bigger (taller) than the rekord 70
the osaka is a last resort must have ... at 350 quid i need to look at others first.

How about a Fluval roma 90?

i really hope its the site loosing its marbles and not me :( here they are

im sorry i cant copy and paste them..something is going mad and its not me!! ill try again in a bit for you. i can see them but when i clik on them again it goes to a double link, taking you back to trop dis page :(

How about a Fluval roma 90?

that looks more like it ... not too sure about that cabinet though - can you just get the aquarium ?
also do these have the all in one sort of boxes at the back to house the heater, filter etc ?

 see what u mean about the wallpaper - lovely tank though

Yep you can get them without the cabinet, actually the cabinets are pretty good, ive had a roma 90 and a 240 in the past.

The 90 I believe comes with an internal filter, but not like the juwel tanks that house it all in one box, so you would have a seperate filter and heater.

If you're looking at keeping clown loaches in it, I'd think more than 90 litres would be a bright idea - they keep on growing up to about 12" don't they?
