I live in toronto. And the only place I've seen that have red cherry shrimp and they where from big als but they costed. 3 dollars each and half of them in the tank where dead or dying. I don't know the average price of 1 is so I would like some help on where to get them cheap or where to get them online cheap with shipping. thanks.

Check out EBAY, what you lose on postage you can usually make up as the shrimp will be cheaper. Check out the sellers feedback before you buy but Most of them will probably be very good as reputation is very important to them.

Cheap isn't always the best way to go.  A lot of times, you get exactly what you pay for.  One option for 'cheaper' red cherry shrimp is to look around for a breeder and buy their 'culls'.  Breeders often are trying to get the very reddest of the shrimp, and will have to do something with their 'not red enough' shrimp, so that they don't breed with their reddest ones.  The 'culls' are often cheaper as a result (they just want to be rid of them).  They are usually just as healthy and strong as the reds, but not as colorful.

I've had good luck getting high quality red cherry shrimp from Ebay. Like Eagles says, you have to be careful, that you aren't getting just any old shrimp, be picky. But I did find that the price was good. Normally I buy only locally but this was during a time when none of the local shops had a supplier.

I would try some searches for Shrimp groups online and in places like Facebook (with facebook or even Gumtree or Craigs list you might find people already local to you with shrimp available), often if you can get in contact with a breeder direct not only will you get a better deal but also you can talk to them directly about the water parameters they are keeping and breeding their shrimp in. It truly is amazing just how much the pH and gH of the water can influence the colouration of the shrimp as well as what foods they are getting.
I have seen shrimp that where amazing knock out colours reduce their wow factor when put into a different tank with different setup and parameters and visa versa can also happen, where plain Jane shrimp turn stunning when put into condtions that are more suitable to them.
The other bonus of getting some "cull" shrimp from a breeder is if you have the time and interest you can try to develop your own line of shrimp.
And no matter how tempting it is (trust me the temptation is great) don't mix different colour variations of cherry shrimp in the one tank, yes the adults will look amazing being a mix of red, yellow, orange, rili, blue green and black....BUT the jumbled mixed genetics of the offspring that such a blending will produce will only look like wild type cherry shrimp which no body wants and generally become fish food.
