Allright lads;

Thing is, I've been looking for a good food for my Discus (as a treat). I know beefheart would be ideal in small doses for all my fish, but I can't find any online or even on Ebay (that looks reliable at any rate). Are there any people from Belfast/Northern Ireland who knows how to get their hands on frozen beefheart?

Thanks for your time.

Supermarkets sometimes have them prepared too :good:

Ask you local Butcher mate...he can obtain one for you...
Cut away all the tubes and fatty pieces with a sharp knife then cut the leaner pieces into chunks for freezing or liquidising/blending.
I like to grate mine after I've froze it...it then looks like worms..
Do not use this kind of food extensively but as part of a balanced diet

Oh so is it okay to buy beef heart from the butchers and feed it to your fish?
Don't you have to cook it?

Nope....Just prep it and freeze
There are many recipes on the internet for Discus diets
just type in Beefheart Recipes into your search engine

So I'll just head to a butchers and tell them I need beefheart for tropical fish?

Then (I assume) I should just get an ice cube tray and stick a load of chunks in it or something?

The left chamber will yield the best meat, just cut it into chunks and freeze it.

Ornamental fish farm in bury on tutt hill will order what you want andbpost it to you for a charge.

Thanks for the feedback lads; I'll head to my local butchers tomorrow!
