I think your plants will be fine with the glass but if you post a new topic in the planted section you'll get some good advice from the experts there

You know almOstAwesome, I hope you realize just how much you've helped me. THANK YOU. And absolutely thank you to everyone who has given advice. When I am able to add fish I want it to be a positive experience for me and of course my fish. I think posting in the planted section regarding a glass lid is a great idea because they'll probably know. There's no doubt it will reduce the intensity, it's a question of how much and what type of plants are in the tank. So, I'll be posting over there soon.

Thank you for the compliment, I will be an attentive fishkeeper. We have animals stuck in a glass box so they need to be taken care of---obviously. I don't feel that good animal husbandry takes that long each week regarding freshwater tanks. We just gotta keep up with it.
