I like the entire genre you might call punk!

However bands like blink-182 and Green day aren't punk.

My favorite bands are:

Social Distortion
U.S. Bombs
Sixer
Bad Religion
The Clash
The Distillers
The Explosion
One Man Army
Operation Ivy
River City Rebels
Sham 69

That's really just a start! I hate metal, I hate rap, I hate EMO as well. Just gimme something with three chords and a ton of attitude and political angst and I'll probably like it.

Yeah! High Five Dragonscales! I totally agree with you, that's what I've been trying, or have been saying myself the whole time

i basically love 60s/70s rock anything from blues/hippie phsyc/folk rock/classic rock/pre metal/real punk
the best stuff
i also am into stuff from the 80s such as metal
and early nineties such as Nirvana and the grunge seen
and some stuff today like Wolfmother, White Stripes etc
but no emo or pop :)

Metal all the way for me.
Though I do listen to some hardcore, industrial/cyber/electronic, rock etc.
But mostly metal.

My fav bands would have to be Opeth, Arch Enemy, Dimmu Borgir, Silverchair, Dope Stars Inc...

Old rock was what I voted - although I prefer the term "classic rock" :p. The Beatles are okay, but seriously...we're talking Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Led Zep, UFO, Pink Floyd, Queen, Bowie(etc) here.

I also like new bands, ones with a tune, ones without a tune (it's always good to have a nice scream every now and then)...it's all good.

I like Tenacious D, Godsmack, Roadstar...I like music in general really. And rap isn't music. It's just talking really fast.

(Good) Punk Rock, Ska, Reggae, Hardcore, Celtic/Irish Traditional, Big Band, Jazz, Dixieland, folk, and pretty much anything with a ton of instruments (marches, orchestral and symphonic music, etc). I also dabble in rap, country, alternative, rock, metal, and just about any genre, but not enough to call myself a fan of any of it. And I refuse to listen to Emo. Heh.

Oh yeah... ::high fives the Operation Ivy fan:: Rock on. I love those guys. And Rancid's first two albums, before they got horrible... lol Do you ever listen to Common Rider? Definately not punk rock; much softer, but its the same lead singer as Operation Ivy, and the music is pretty interesting.

Yeah their (Rancid) new stuff is horrible but you really can't exclude out come the wolves from their list of greats!

... stuff like Eric Burdon and The Animals, etc.

I voted for Old Rock too. I'm surprised to see Eric Burdon & the Animals even mentioned. I was crazy about them but no one seems to mention them any more. :/ He made some good music with War too. :D

80's Metal for me mainly although I still love the old classics like Led Zepp, Hendrix and so on.

Yeah, while i voted for metal, I really don't have a favourite genre, just what i'm into. I can listen to almost anything.

I really like the US band, Symphony X.

Ive heard a few tracks from Symphony X, great guitar work!

i like rock and pop, but i voted for pop because i love gnarls barkley's songs especially crazy

I'll be honest, i have three of Symphony X's albums, that is only matched by Linkin Park, and closely followed by the Black Eyed Peas. So there's a bit of variety to my CD collection!

ROCK, but definetely not the dumb gay bands of the 21'st century.
Just wondering, why do you think the bands of the 21st century suck? I know for a fact you have Gorillaz and Papa Roach CD's at your house. I know you don't listen to the Papa Roach, but still. Why? I belive there are some bands you like from this century.

Most of them are bad I mean. some aren't. most are.

They sing about how bad their life is, in a whiny voice, while they own 20 houses in Malibu and have a net worth of over 50 Million. Take for example that song that says "Welcome to my life", in the whiny voice (sorry I can't name it for you, but I bet if you turned on Radio Disney or even a non-kid station, you would hear it sometime or another)
