We have a girl fighter in a 75L tank. She's always been queen of the tank, she had her spot in the vallis near the surface and guarded it strongly!

Now all of a sudden she's just lying in the corner on the gravel facing the corner and wont move unless

a:someone gets too close (we're talking touching!) or

b:there's food going in.

She looks fine! Swimming fine when she does. Colour is normal. No sign of any fungus or swelling or anything!

Twice this week we've heard a commotion and think she's leapt out of the water (ie there's splashing!), she's never jumped before that we've seen and always after she's just back in the corner.

It's weird, like she's sulking  How come her behavoiur has suddenly changed?

PS. We want to put a few more girls in the tank with her but are going away for a long trip and dont want new fish until we get home :)

Jumping usually happens if the water quality is poor. She might be stressed. Not sure..

How old is she? sometimes older fish get more sulky as they age.
