when I kept discus I was spending £50 each which was qujite scary for me!!

a platinium silver arowana (priceless, the owner turned down a deal of $15,000), its an absolute stunner. highest i went was $5 for my fire eel.

Around 4,500 grand for an arrowana. Most I've spent on a fish is £180

We have a nice big, very nicely marked red tailed gold arowana that was bought from a really nice chap who specialises in them as I will not pay LFS prices especially as their uality is nowhere near as good

We also have a lovely 18-20" disc Leopoldi stingray female who is appreciating in value since they cannot be legally imported anymore, we bought her when she was about 5" across and she has grown big and healthy in the ensuing years

I think the most we paid through an LFS was £200 for a Tigrinus catfish, but that was still a good deal.

It is all relative really, some people spend hundreds on gucci or Prada handbags, personally we prefer to spend money on the living, our zoo is testament to that
