Forgot to put a backing on a 62g before setting it all up right against a back wall, then realising I couldnt move it to fit it! Also found the floor wasnt level with this tank and had to completely move it to another part of the room.

Forgot to add dechlor to a tank that I then put mature media into - luckily no problems afterwards.

Yep I did that too, although mine took forever to cycle. Also suckered a thermometer to side of a brand new empty tank, only for it to fall off and crack the glass. Luckily the shop exchanged it!

i have also bought an external to find it was too big, it fit after cutting it though!! (the cupboard)

not put the rubber seal on the filter, i opened the tap to start it filling the filter back up, which in this case it just filled the room up

i fill my tanks up by the kitchen tap & a hose pipe in which i didnt tighten the connection properly and it wet the kitchen!

gor a new eheim filter (i had only fluval before) i forgot to close one of the taps so a spray of water drecnched me in the face, i was putting my weight on the lid to close it while trying to reach to the back to shut the tap off, that was funny (but not at the time!)

i do that regualarly, has no bad effect though.

Lots of things Sometimes my excitement takes over.
I've got it home and filled it up (I don't knwo why) without putting a filter, gravel anything in. LOL
Bit like minxy decided i wanted a background and emptied the whole tank - fish in bucket - and moved it then my dad said " I could have moved that with the water in you know".
Also we finally got it up on the desk and with fish in etc (No stand then) and someone said you better get polysterine so it doesn't crack and so it keeps the heat in.
And the last one was my dad was out when i was setting up the tank and i moved my desk excactly where i wanted it got my brother to put the tank on the desk and i realised that there were no plugs there

This was all on one tank trying to get it right on my quarintine one.

Edit: Oh and i always spill water everywhere as well.

i lit enough candles to fill a cathedral as a bit of a romantic evening for me and the hubby then the dog came in and jumped up at a flickering shadow knocking an iron candlestick through my tank

i wasnt happy lol and we spent the rest of the evening trying to stop water getting underneath the wooden floor

Hey, I've come close. Netting fish to bag them, forgetting to put water in the bag first.

Waking up early to bag fish before a long drive to an auction will do strange things to the thought process. 3am is the usual, and will be happening tomorrow morning, second weekend in a row.

I forgot to turn off the return on a sump when I took the hose off to fix it. About 10 gallons of water on a carpeted floor... Was not pretty.

I was doing a water change on my 100L tank and i had the siphon hose over hanging the tank while i emptied the bucket. I got distracted because i split my knee open on the cupboard door.... came back, with my knee still bleeding to find half the tank on the floor as the hose has fallen out the tank and had siphoned about 40L of water all over my bedroom carpet!! I must have looked quiet a site when my parents came running in from my scream for help, water and blood everywhere!!

Ohh, so sorry to hear about your knee. The stupidest thing I've ever done was buying a cracked tank (I still have to patch it) and also adding seashells to an aquarium. I also added 3 zebra danios and 3 guppies to an aquarium of around a gallon
