arowana and Scleropages leichardti they look the same, but why diff name?

arowana is a common name
Scleropages leichardti is a scientific name describing a specific fish,
in this case the spotted arowana

so its the same fish? i saw a shop putting Scleropages leichardti not arowana =/ so i asked , lol thanks anyway
