I'm curious to see what you all would own if you ever had the chance, disregarding the realistic side of things. Here are my questions:

The most unusual fish you'd own?

Your favourite fish you'd own?

Your favourite MARINE fish you'd own?

Your favourite aquatic creature (non-fish) you'd own?

I think for unusual fish, the salt water has many unusual, interesting or even beautiful fish like the Jelly fish, Mandarin fish(Dragonet), Octopus, Stingray(both marine and fresh water), Seahorse, Lionfish, etc.

Actually my favourite fish keeps changing.
I guess at the moment, my favourite fresh water fish is Geophagus Sveni which I'm also keeping them at the moment.
My favourites used to be Discus, Apistogramma (especially Apistogramma Elizabethae), Killifish, Betta(especially the Plakat and Halfmoon), Blue Ram, Electric Blue Ram, Golden Ram, Altolamprologus Calvus, Electric Blue Dempsey and many other African fish.

For marine fish, there are many nice/beautiful species of marine Angel fish.
Probably the Regal Angel fish, the Emperor Angel fish or the Queen Angelfish.

I guess my favorite aquatic creature is the Panther crab(freshwater and fully aquatic) which don't require land.

I would probably choose, as my most unusual fish, a killifish named Aphyosemion coeleste. They are very hard to find.

My favourite is also a killifish (do you see a pattern...) Aphyosemion zygaima. I've been breeding them for 30 years, and still find them fascinating..

I'm not a fan of the marine hobby, but I could go brackish and keep mudskippers.

A non fish aquatic creature? I used to have some Atya fan shrimp, and I would love to have them again.

This is so fun.

I think the most unusual fish I would own would be some sort of eel.

I think my favorite fish I could own would be a discus fish.

My favorite marine fish would be some kind of puffer fish.

My favorite aquatic fish would be a crayfish or some kind of large crab species.

Disregarding the realistic side of things like you mentioned, my tank would be the size of a small housing estate I recon with the beautiful Sun fish. I am absolutely amazed by the creatures, I think they are one of nature's oddie, mysterious strange fish. I love eels of all kinds and knife fish too, basically anything unusual. That's me! 🙃

Oh goodness. For unusual, I would keep Discus. Their body shape is so unique. For just my favorite fish I would own, Geophagus sveni is the dream. For saltwater I would keep Dwarf Seahorses or pipefish. Favorite aquatic creature is axolotl

I would love to keep rainbow belly pipefish (Microphis deocata). I’ve not seen them other than in photos. They’re so beautifully unusual. If I ever get into marine tanks, I’d love to keep seahorses. The top invert on my list would be cuttlefish- I’m mesmerized by them. Something like the flamboyant cuttlefish would be a dream pet.

Is it possible for us to see photos of your Geophagus Sveni?😍
First two photos are my Sveni. My lighting is quite dim as it's old.
I just bought a new tropical red LED which will give nicer colours and enhance their colours during photo taking but I haven't taken any photo with my new LED yet.
Btw, I haven't put in all my sand yet as I am still treating them for flukes.
Once the treatment is completed, I will add more sand for a nicer look.
I'm using a big round air stone which gives a nice effect and better oxygen level for the fish.
Oxygen is the most important for the fish, even more important than clean water.
Anyway, I change more than 100% of water once a week.

The third photo belong to my friend.
We bought the Sveni together from the same shop. He used a red LED and another white LED.
If you use a RGB light, it will probably looks even better.
Wait till they grow to 5-6" , their colours will be even better.

They are stunning😍😍😍 I adore geophagus sveni, they’re just gorgeous. What size group would you recommend keeping them in, and what tank size would that need?
