What would you do ?

Have looked at them but they are jumpers.
oh... that's unfortunate. what about local mosquitofish? they can live in soft water if they are raised in soft.

I’d go for a massive school of neons (like 50 or 75) I don’t know why I just think that would look very cool haha, Have you ever seen panda apistogramma? Very beautiful dwarf cichlid from south america that you might like! Apistos love soft water!

judging by your name, i can somehow see why you like south american chiclids.

Really want to go for a few species in large groups hence looking at the little ones this time.
Will definitely keep Corys as I adore them - any colour and any size.
Maybe a large group of say ember tetras for the middle of the tank.
Can’t decide on a top level species. Have had a look at a few but haven’t found a must have one yet.
Also thinking of adding some shrimp into the mix.
Great to get everyone’s ideas and advice ?
How about gouramis for the upper fish? If you want ember tetras, I would avoid the larger gouramis (they might eat small fish) so maybe honey gouramis? In a tank this size you could have group of honey gouramis.

Will have a look into them thanks.

Most of the fish which have the common name mosquito fish are hard water fish. The name has been used for guppies, Heterandria formosa and Gambusia affinis, all hard water livebearers.

i mean gambusia, they can live in the moderate soft water river that i go to.

(european mosquitofish, the one with the "tear")

Have had many large fish before including knife fish and various cichlids. They are lovely but wanting a change.
