Just interested to see your alls emergency plans. If you don't mind tell what you voted on for each question. :D

My house is on High ground, and I'm nowhere near a huricane spot, so alls I have to worry about is Tornados.
In the past, I've just left all my fish were they were, I've never had any troubles.
Usually My parents are home, and they just go downstairs and have me follow.
The last tornado we had (In september I think) my sister had a friend over, so we grabbed a flashlight and all our cell phones and some sleeping bags and we headed downstairs.
We also brought a deak of cards we were going to play with earlier, and it was a big saver.
We were in the basemnt for about an hour, which is a really long time when your bored and in a state of anticipation.
It was funny because one storm warning would pass, and another local aleart would sound.
Crazy and fun times...

I've never had any of those where I live so I never had to think about it before

Wow, that's not even cool. As soon as I hit vote, the weather guy comes on and says theres a storm comming with a chance of tornados.

I couldn't really vote for any of the options on your poll. I live in California and have never experienced a tornado, hurricane or flood (I'm by the ocean). I imagine if there was a flood I'd be ok since I am on the fourth floor of the dormitories and my school is high up on a hill protected by redwood forests.

What did you vote on for what you would do for a tornado Ethos?
I voted on "Grab favorite bettas and head for basement."
But now that i think about it, i think i'd just leave them.
I've never had a tornado do anything worse than pull of the shingles and throw around our patio furniture.

What state do you live in? I live in kentucky.

nino I was going to put earthquakes but you can only have 3 questions :grr:

I too couldn't vote. I don't live where there are hurricanes, floods or tornados. The only thing I have to worry about is an earthquake.

If a big earthquake hit I would not have time to save any of my bettas. There is no warning system for earthquakes. And to be perfectly honest, my biggest concern would be my daughter, my husband and the rest of my extended family. My cats and my fish wouldn't even be on my radar I don't think.

If a tornado is headed toward you, you don't have time to grab your bettas, unless you have only one or two and can grab them on the way to your basement/safe place. Same with a flood, you really don't have time to bag them up or anything. With a hurricane, you have up to a week to get ready. Last two big ones to head this way (Dennis, and then Katrina), I packed them up in bags, put them in a cooler, and headed for safety. Thank god I did for Katrina, I couldn't get home for almost 2 weeks, I don't think they would have made it if I hadn't.

Well, if your really motivated, and you really want to save these babes, you can probably save 2 bettas.
I know that usually we have about 4 minutes after the tornado siren has started to get to saftey.
I usually grab a flashlight and cards, plus my cell phone and wallet (even thought it wont do much help with only $30 in it).

- Put bettas in cups I got them in and head for basement.

- Bag all my bettas and get in my car and head North.

- Bag all bettas and drive to high ground.

I don't have to worry about any of those though.

Being from New Orleans, my bettas (and all my other critters) have evacuated with me many times. The bettas get put into tupperware and off we go... Since I recently moved I've only had to evacuate from one hurricane, so it's better.

Me too, but I know I would calming bag everyone up and get all my cats and dogs and horses and go somewhere. You would have to kill me before I'd leave any of my animals. That's part of being an owner; taking care of an animal...bascially assuming all care and protection for them. I would never leave them. Never.

Well first off before even thinking of the bettas I would be getting all of my dogs to a safe place, along with the rats, birds, hamsters, and then the bettas. Or I'd just die with all of them. I wouldn't ever leave my animals to fend for themselves.
