I have a 55g tank that is heavily planted with co2. I have a full grown rainbow shark in there and he is just starting to get mean with other tank inhabitants after a year of peace.

I want to move all of the fish out of my 55g to my 90g but I will leave the rainbow shark in there.

What fish would you put into the 55g tank with the ranbow shark?

Thanks for your suggestions.

Note: the tank has drift wood hiding spots for the shark.

From your sig i'm assuming that you have kept him with denissoni barbs and angels up untill now?

I would recommend adding a shoal of larger barbs such as arulius barbs or a trio of semi aggressive gouramis like three spots or maybe even a few botias species.

I have kept the rainbow shark with 15 rummynose and 2 breeding angels in the 55g, they all got along fine almost 1.5 years. The full grown shark even swam with the angels and rummynose in peace.

I like your ideas. I dont know gouramis much but are they tough enough for a 7" male territorial rainbow shark?

What about a 2-3 larger (old world) cichlids?

Note: Im a cichlid rookie...

The only old world (africans) that would work are Kribensis,

I would think a pair of larger Opaline or Gold Three-Spots should be ok
