mine was a betta (who died the next day.... along with all the walmart bettas... apparently they had some disease and they all died that night... it was my bday too...) but the first fish to go in a real TANK (yep, had my betta in a gross lil bowl.. i didnt know any better ) was an angel. I vividly remember trying to convince my parents to get me a kuhli loach, though... i loved how they looked lol

I remember when my brother and I bothered our dad enough to get us a tank. Well actually two tanks since I couldn't share a tank ( I wanted my own). My brother got a ten gallon tank and I got a 5 1/2 gallon tank (and I still use both tanks today). The first fish I had were a pair of guppies and with a week or two after getting them the female gave birth and I was hooked for life.
