What Was Your Fastest Growing Fish?

some great replies, and some funny stories. loving it.

fastest - common plec.

slowest - neon rainbows. had them 3 months and they have not grown at all. if anything they look smaller as the tiger barbs who were tiny are now bigger than them.

most annoying - yoyo loaches.....i spend ages making the tank look half decent and within a night its destroyed. (still love em though)

had a giraffe nose cat that grew from 9 to 22 inches in about 14 months ( yes true ) but maxed out at 26-27 inches nick named the shovel.
clarius cat just didnt stop growing but sold it at 23 inches with a 9 inch severum in its belly.

Fastest growing has to be my featherfin catfish and common plec,in little over 2 months they have both gone from 1inch to 6/7 inches.

Slowest has to be the clown loaches.

Most annoying is the guppies,i have grown to detest these fish,at one point we had around 30 of them and they all died withing a couple of weeks at a rate of around 3 a day,all water perameters were fine,BUT............

I was actually looking forward to the last guppy dying so i could get different fish,and the last one to die only went and dropped around 20 fry just before she kicked the bucket So i now have 20 happy healthy 4 week old fry swimming around happily in the tank even after i tried to get them eaten from my bigger fishies when they were first born.

mine probs my syno cats went from about 2 inches to 6 inches in about 8 months
slowest is probs my dwarf gourami took him about a year to get to maximum size and i got him when he was 2 inches

My siMy fastest was silver dollars, got them 7 years ago when they where just about an inch, within just 4 months they were all the 8-9 inch silver plates as I call em now lol and still going strong, I've got some pictures just don't know how to put em on here. My slowest was my clown loaches who are very very steady growers

Years ago I had a Tiger Shovelnose that grew from about 3" to 18" in under 6 months

I'm being deadly serious, they eat like horses, I give them usual flakes, along with bloodworms, mosquito larvae and there fave is cucumber, lettuce and peas
