Hi all! I'm very new here, just got my hands on a aqua one 620t. It has a foot print of approx 2' by 1'4" and is 3' tall. I'm currently doing a fish less cycle for my filters, the in hood one and a fluval u3, so this should provide twice as much filtration as needed.

I was wondering if I would be able to house, or if it would be over stocked? I intend to keep...

- 10 guppies
- 6 zebra danios
- 12 cardinal tetra
- 6 dwarf corys
- bristlenose plecco

Does anyone have any other suggestions?

So a 59 Gallon (225L) tank, with a small footprint?

Assuming your in hood filter has a similar turnover to the U3, you've got fine filtration, make sure to get plenty of surface movement because with those dimensions, you'll have a harder time aerating that on other 200L tanks.

The tank seems a little overstocked to me, maybe not now (assuming your fish are adolescents) but as they grow the tank will be too small for the three shoals. Regular water changes and monitoring Nitrates will be a must. Others can probably advise more on the sepcifics of those fish though.

Hi there

Nice looking tank, however, according to the interweb it's a 130L capacity. I hear very good things about the filters. Danios might prefer a shorter longer tank though as they like to zip about very fast. Maybe forget the danios and the cardis and just have the guppies, a large group of colourful males could look quite stunning.

Hi delta.

Your interweb is working correctly, it is a 130l tank. I didnt know that about the danios, so I will exclude them. I have also read up some more on them, and found if they are kept in tanks smaller than 4' then they tend to get bored and start nipping. As I have a tall tank I am wanting to get a setup which will get fish at all different levels within the tank. I would love to have a small group of neon/cardinal tetra as I think they are a very nice looking fish, I also would love to have different types of fish in the tank, to keep it interesting, so having mostly guppies isn't too appealing to me. thank you for the suggestion though! :good:

No problem, it was just a thought. I think I thought of it because I once saw a tall version of the edge with just orange/black platys in it and it did look very striking Mind you, way too many platys for an Edge and a common plec can you believe ????

You can't beat the red/blue of the cardinals for being eye catching for sure. I have a shoal of 11 in my 200L and they really stand out. Just remember that it's surface area and footprint that are the main things to consider with tall tanks.

Don't forget pictures once you have it up and running :D
