What To Do With Bogwood / Rocks?

Well I am going to give up on this piece of wood. I soaked it for a week, then just tried to put it in my tank tied to pieces of slate, and it didn't even remotely sink. The slate just snapped off while the wood floated.

I will take it back and hopefully they'll give me credit to get something else but I will get some different wood from a different shop tomorrow.

Got 3 pieces of Sumatra driftwood today. They are very nice - I like the tangle of branches and think it would look great once covered with java moss and sitting amongst some plants. Should make a nice environment for schooling fish and shrimp.

I notice that the wood is immediately releasing a lot of tannins in my bathtub, so I am soaking it in very hot + boiling water. Will put it into my tank this weekend.
