I got this guy a few months ago but have no idea what type of Cory he is. It was the last one in the shop when I got him and I wanted to try and find him some friends now!

I've tried looking at pictures but the spotty ones are all starting to look the same  Does anybody know what species this is?

hi Shrimper
possably a cross breed correct me if im wrong :good:
as iv never seen one like that my first thoughts was a sterbia or jullie but it has no pattern from head to tale just a third ov its body :good:

Hello. Very possibly, C. sodalis. - Frank

This is one on my possible list... It does have the green sheen in the right light but in all the pictures I have seen online the pattern continues onto the head. Mine doesn't really have any markings on its face at all

The specie is extremely variable. You're looking for an "exact" match, where none exist. What are your other "possible" choices? - Frank

I had a group of C. sodalis and they looked just like yours. Probably the closest you are going to get! :p

I think c. sodalis is the favorite...

The other ones I had as possibles include gomezi, delphax, trilineatus, noelkempffi and sterbai but most of these have markings on the heads and generally other colour features mine doesn't have.

I would say C.sodalis. There is a very similair cory in the form of C.reticulatus, however this cory whilst having very similair markings also displays a black blotch in the dorsal fin.

I think i've found him some friends, they were sold as c. elegans in the lfs but i'm certain they are the same species. I've now got 6 of them in total.
