So come on, you know you have done it, bought a lovely new shiny piece of kit and then promptly broken it?

I pushed in and lost forever the two little threaded this you attach hanging wires to on my old halide  opened it up to get them out and they were nowhere to be seen

I once bought a 150l tank, put it in the car got home, filled 1/2 way with water. All great, next 3/4 still good, all the way then noticed there were water droplets rising from the bottom trim! I emptied it out and under the gravel was the crack well 8 of them from the center to the outer edges! I think i broke it in transit

Broke one of the clips on my overflow box as it was going into the tank the first time. Always meant to fix it, but four years later it's still going... albeit a bit lopsided.

Also, if it counts, someone chipped the tempered glass on my 75G a week after buying it :(

Seen someone push a 72x30x30 brand new tank into a steel door and take a huge chip out of front and side panes

the person who did that wouldnt be alive if i was the owner

Skimmer... sat on it  Now it's leaking a bit around the neck.

And this is where the idea for the thread came from  took him a bit longer to post than I thought :p It reminded me of my shiny new deltec mce 600 skimmer, a fine piece of kit. Took it round to Trod's (my sister) as she wanted to see if it would fit on her tank before buying one herself. I propped it up behind the sofa whilst coffee and chat went on - nephew comes in and promtly pushes sofa and down crashes mce cracking the plastic overflow  I pick it up and then promptly drop it, which then snapped off the overflow completely  inside I was :shout: and swearing, outside I was saying, don't worry I'm sure it will be fine  and it was, a couple of hours later an a serious amount of superglue!

Nothing to serious but every time I take my korillias apart to clean them I end up snapping the prop shaft! All three are now running with broken shafts and are noisy as hell. Will replace them when I have the cash but they are bloody expensive (and I will only end up snapping them again anyway).

Dropped one of my tunze 6055,s
After buying a new tunze 6055 power head and wave controller from my LFS my wife decided she wanted to call into the in laws on the way home  , so me been like a big kid with a new toy I could not wait to get home and try it out, so myself and the farther in law decided we would try it out in the bath :hyper: , well the two magnets got stuck together so when I tried to pull them apart the power head shot out of the C clamp and hit the wall and flew in to bits damaging the housing :grr: and the C clamp also shaped off 2 of the 4 holding clips :grr: , all in all 1x new C clamp and 1x new housing and two weeks waiting for the spares to come from tunze
