What Kind Of Plec Is This?

hey all,
its not really important but i just bought a plec today (because it was sooo cute and i just wanted it insted of a snail ! ) but i was to busy looking around i never managed to get the type!,av attached some photos, its is approx 1.5inch and the helper said it wouldnt grow much more than 3-4 inches (dunno if that helps but u never know) and am pretty sure she is a girl but, am not sure if you sex catfish types the same as other fish?? if you do then am 80% sure its female,
anybody got any ideas just let me know!

it is a common, probably P. pardalis and it looks in need of a good feed.

expect it to grow to around 14 inches or so

hey thanks for all your reply's but are you all sure it will grow that big ? i went to a whole saler and asked him which plec wouldnt grow big and he give me that 1. he said it should grow no more than 3-4 or max 5 inch! ano its still a baby now so maybe its hard to tell. thanks again for your reply's

It would probably be 3-4 inches in no time at all, keep an eye on the size.

Yep i agree with mike, the fish is definitely one of the common pleco species, and most likely P.Pardalis

wow am in trouble if thats the case haha... but i dont think he would of lied to me, he assured me that it wouldnt out grow my tank because he knows wat sort of tank i have and etc. he even give me his number to see when he would be in the shop incase i have any problems coz he knows am a newbie.. . i might give him a ring or text him later and clear up this confusion

It is very thin, needs a very good feed and fast, otherwise you're wholesaler will be right and he wont reach 4", other than that, i have to say you're wholsaler has lied to you, he's sold you a plec that when fully grown will need (at absolute minimum) a 4' by 2' tank

i make no money out of it, your wholesaler does. Its not hard to tell, it is what it is.
