My favorite animals are cats. They are so pretty, wild like, and confident. Yes I have had one, he was my first pet. We had hime for ten years. Dogs are my second favorite animals. Even the smallest of dogs will risk it's life for it's pack. I feel comfortable at night knowing my dogs are there to warn me of danger. also love birds. I admire them for thier intellegence. I also like fish because I feel peacefull when I look at them. I like rabbits too, they are just so dange cute. Then comes pretty much everything elts. I don't think I've met any living thing I don't like. What about you?

I like horses, chickens, cows, slow worms/legless lizards, hedgehogs, fish and birds in general etc, i was brought up on a farm as a child in the countryside and i grew up living with all sorts of wildlife and farm animals around me so i have grown a great fondness towards such animals and many more- i have never come across a type of animal which i didn't like :good: . IMHO a great deal of animals are a lot more intelligent than people give them credit for, i would say that a lot of farm animals in particular are even more intelligent than many animals people primarily/often keep as pets like cats and rabbits etc  .

I'm a cat man, any cat i don't care big or small.

Meh, i'm not such a big fan of cats, they crap on the lawn and in the flowerbeds in my front and back gardens and kill all the birds- i'm not looking forward to having to deal with the cats in my area when the goldfish get moved out into their pond.

ahh its the foxes that do that around here. cockey critters too, though wild, they are happy to share food with my cats, and chill a few feet from us when we are out. not so keen on my Rottie though, we suffer regular verbal arguments between the two at night.

i think my gerbils. Id love a hamster too (been told no more pets for now :p). In the past ive had dogs, fish, birds, lizards and gerbils and i love how cute and intelligent gerbils are. You can see them working things out all the time. I do love my fishies, but you cant interact with them the same way. Same with my gecko, dont get me wrong, i love him to pieces, but he doesnt interact with me the same as my gerbies do.

Gotta be the dog. Nothing beats the love of a good dog

Ask the dog if you need anything....

You want to go for a walk? great lets go
Dinner time? Super-cool, I'm ready.
Want to play outside? I'll come too! right now? sure! it's raining? never mind - you ready?
Want to sit quietly? move over, I'm in.
What's wrong? it's ok, I'm here.
Was that a bump? a bang? a burglar?? I'll go look for you.
Go swim in the river? outta my way coming through!
Blind? it's ok, hold on to me.
Disabled? I'll get it for you, what do you need?
Time for a bath?............

.....hey, where's the dog gone? :)

I love my labrador. No one who's ever had one will dispute that.

on this does anyone know where i could get a "black" Maine coon? i have seen them State side, but never in the UK
try this list of breeders
Google knows all

I have to agree with cats.
cats are intelligent, dogs are stupid.
proof? ok
throw a sick for a dog and he'll chase it,
throw a stick for a cat and he'll look at you as if to say 'if you wanted it, why throw it away!'

Bah! Wolf. That is such a cat person thing to say change your name immediately!! the dogs are insulted!

Take two guys with tennis rackets and a tennis ball, one of them hits the ball - what does the other one do?
Does he stand there and say "if you wanted it why did you hit it away?"
Nope, he hits it back - not because he thought the first guy lost it by accident, but because he understands they are playing a game together.

Dogs understand that the fun is in playing the game.

however have no concept of what a game is. they do what they are told taught/ encourage to do. cats, at all times, do what they want. there is a reason cats are the top predictor, on land, on this planet. BRAINS!! dogs being left to clean up after.

My five year old has no concept of what Chess is, does that mean he won't enjoy it as and when he is taught to play it?

For all the fish I have it would have to be dogs, particularly smaller terriers. They've been a part of my life since I was a kid, doing everything & going everywhere.
