My Torpedo bard got this after 5 months of being in the same tank- not sure what it is but will take any info people have, thanks.

250L tank
Good circulation + airflow
40% waterchange per week
Only 6 torpedo barbs + 2 Plecos in the tank

Sorry for the double post) didn't procces the first one on my screen.

what is it we're looking at?

if you mean the colour fish tend to change colour if they go into a good home after being in the shop and stressed

The red towards the end fin on the lower side is flesh swollen almost about 0.5 cm in width

what are the levels of your water?

how long has it been set up?

Can't test the water at the minute as someone else has my test kits, tank has been running for 5 months

Is it actually on the fin or protuding from the fish's body?

If the latter, I'd suspect some sort of hernia/prolapse, and there's nothing you can really do, except euthanise if the fish seems to be suffering :(

The fish seems fine, seems to be breathing heavily so i've upped the air in the tank. The wound is under the body, its the red mark you can see on the photo on the underside of the barb. I'll see how it is overnight

 I actually had this happen to one of my fish before they died... I hope your will be okay. But there was nothing I could do about it to cure him...
