What Is This Fish?

I'm 99% sure your fish is a spotted talking catfish Agamyxis pectinifrons.

thanks guys much appreciated, been looking to find out for ages now, bought it and new it was a spotted "something" but never found out. will this be okay with out pleco's?

They'll live with or without plecs. They're very peaceful though, of course, like most fish, they will eat anything that will fit in their mouths, like neon tetras.

They are very shy; we hardly ever see ours, unless we move his cave when we're cleaning out. Maybe they're braver with company of their own kind, but I'm not sure; my LFS never has them

I got one and never see it, might be because i have hollow rocks and it likes the darkest possible place which is inside the rocks!

Yeah, if it fits in their mouth they eat it, good bye cichlid fry!

This fish is 100% talking catfish (raphael catfish) my girlfriend has one and he/she is 32 years old and it still going strong, so with the corrct care they are quite abit of a commitment.

Shes 18 her dad got the catfish from a baby when he was 17 and hes now 48 still got the cat to this day witch makes the cat fish 31 not 32 sorry
