I really love swordtails but I am strting to favor chiclids but swordtails are still my favorite.

you will find on most of the polls bettas come first... not because its the best fish.. but because its the most easyest kept fish

and most of the members on this forum ahve either kept one in the past (starter fish) or is kepping one at present (not just one but a few lol)

i think iv had around 4 in the past... 3 of them being rescues....

Bettas definitely...they have a very fascinating behaviour, beautiful fins, and are extremely hardy. A great fish for beginners OR experts I suppose.
