My ammonia is at 2.4 but on reading my nutrafin test this is mg/litre so now confused AGAIN :/
 
o.k wow confusing? but I get it so my tank is o.k. My chart only goes to 3 though I think so will struggle to keep it below 6 surely? oh well I'll keep going :huh:
 
When you say your tank is ok, what do you mean? To put fish in? It's definitely not ok for that.
 
Our use in the hobby of parts per million (ppm) is really just a convenience because it's easier to type. mg/l is the technically correct term for what we do because what we're measuring is a solid (mg) in a liquid (litre,) whereas ppm is used for solid in solid or other same-state measurements. In the very low concentrations we deal with however, the numbers all come out the same, so we just use mostly ppm and it's well accepted among hobbyists.
