Im cycling a new tank and there is this weird white stuff on my driftwood. It looks like it could be eggs or fungus? There are two gold snails in there as my initial ammonia source and they look to be doing fine, but it doesn’t look like eggs from their species. What could this be? (The picture of the snail is from a while ago, they are hiding by the filters so i cant get a good picture)

nerite snail eggs?
I dont have any nerite snails? I only have the yellow ones, i didnt see any hitchhikers either lol. I would be quite pleased to have more snails though!

New wood tends to get growths of mold on it from spores that grow when they get wet. They die off soon enough because they’re not aquatic.

Yeah, if it isn't eggs, it's probably some sort of mold that will die off soon enough. Unless it's aliens. That's outside my range of expertise.
