I have 2 tanks, 38 gal with 1 common plec, 1 rtbs, 2 swordtails, 4 diamond tetras, 4 golden barbs and 1 khuli loach. Do I have room to add a pearl gourami?
In my smaller tank, 17 gal, I have 3 mollies, 2 guppies and the befroe mentioned pearl gourami. I used to have an angel in ths tank but he died a couple of weeks ago nad since then the gourami has started bullying the mollies and guppies. The plan was always to move the gourami into the bigger tank but I put it on hold as he appeared to be getting sick with what looked like HITH. Now it seems to have halted, it looks more like his head is grazed now, a bit pink, but no holes. He's not hiding or shimmying anymore and has a hearty appetite and obviously plenty of energy to go and chase the others. One of the female mollies is also very aggressive, bullying the others, inc the one male. I know the answer to this is to introduce more mollies, I was thinking 3, 2 more females and and a male. I'm not planning on getting more guppies so was just going to let the 2 females I have live out their lives with the mollies. Can the guppies cope with brackish conditions?
So, in summary. Do I move the gourami from the smaller tank to th bigger tank? Will he be ok with the rtbs and swordtails? He's not 100% healthy but would he be happier in the bigger tank or would it stress him out too much?
And, can guppies cope with salt?
