Hey everyone, my name is Liam and i am new to the forum. I currently own no fish but i am hoping to have a couple of nice communal setups by the end of the year, firstly i need to know what gal my tanks are in order to know what to search for as i realise fish keeping isn't easy therefore will need to do a lot of research before i do this. I've always loved fish and inverts and wanted an aquarium for a long time but have just never really got round to researching it. Anyhoo my tanks measure 30"x15"x12"(LxHxW) + 36"x15"x13"(LxHxW). Also any suggestions as to what i could keep in these tanks would be most appreciated. Thanks. :good:

Hey leelee862! It is great to hear that you have taken an interest in the hobby!

I have noticed that this forum has a sort of 'built in' volume calculator, which, on my screen, is in the upper right hand corner of this page (or any page I guess), so you should be able to find your answers there! (Or click HERE, in case my screen isnt the same as yours)

Thanks Tommy Gun and Luketendo. Any suggestions as to what i could keep in my tanks? I would really like a nice 'communal' setup with lots of fish and a couple of inverts.

1 Angelfish in the 30 if it's tall enough.

You can have gouramis, barbs, tetras, danios and all sorts, corys, small pleco and catfish.

Nice. What about inverts? What sort of inverts could i keep in these size tanks? I'd love a red claw crayfish..although they grow quite large don't they and are hardly compatible with fish. If these tanks are too small, what size tank would you recommend for a red claw crayfish?

Probably not shrimp since you're having bigger fish. I think you could have snails if you don't have loaches. Lobsters and crabs and stuff would eat your fish if they got hold of them.

But then again you could buy a smallish aquarium and make a species tank for a cray.
