What Floating Plants Do You Guys Use To Keep Bettas Happy?

I've had great experiences with Riccia although I've found it a bit hard to get ahold of. I finally bought some from a grower online. Little Chen just loved it and made some artful bubblenests in it. The stuff spreads too with good lighting.
Good luck!

sounds like riccias a good way forwards....can it survive low lighting?
my tank has a single 15W bulb

Ricca is considered a high light plant. I have considered getting some and putting it in one of my small 2.5 gallon tanks with a CF over it, just to see how it does.

It needs higher light but the good news is you can buy a fluorescent bulb high enough to keep Riccia. They're hard to find and kind of pricey but one lasts a long time. I had one in the five gallon tank that had a fixture for a small bulb. I had a 15W in there until I caught onto the other. I think Drs Foster and Smith carry them so you can mail order if you have to.
Ebay probably has them as well. Good luck!

i am upgrading lighting in probably about 6 mths when my finances are back on track, for now I'm sticking low light

Riccia is kind of pricey too at least here in the states. Price things for yourself as they may be cheaper across the Pond! :good: If not, then you have something to look forward to perhaps....??
I work on my 100 yr old house that way; as money permits...
