can we keep in touch coz ur from my neck of the woods and it will be easier to talk about LFS's in are area
i rang grosenvor tropicals they said it'd be ok but its too far a journey but since its my only option ill probably have to do so!!

exotic aquatics are quite good aswell, be easier for you to get to, i'm rehoming my 2 balas today, a friend of mine is taking them

So which ones are you definitely re-homing then? (Though I'm personally thinking you should rehome ALL and start again)

But just give us a list of:

Which Fish Are definitely being rehomed, and when are you rehoming them (The fish shop that is willing to take them sounds like a great opportunity!!! :) )

What will your stocking be in the 240l once they are re-homed. Don't start thinking about re-stocking until you've got all the current problems sorted. So literally, once they are re-homed, what fish are going to be left in the 240l.

Oscar
Plec
BGK

r deffo bein rehomed to the LFS

Zig Zag Eel & Peacock are being Transferred to the 450

not sure about the rest yet since me & acaras have got a bond, hand feeding, coming to the front when u walk past all that jazz!! :good:

Do you actually own the 450 or has it been ordered? If not, re-home the eels and buy new ones when you set it up. It's so much kinder on them and the other fish.

And we need a full stock list of what will be in the 240 once the oscar plec and BGK are gone. I would work it out from your sig but for all I know some more mollys have been eaten etc etc. So please give a FULL list, including fishes current sizes. Thanks.

the current sizes of the fish are in the sig, i think people didnt read the sizes and assumed they were all fully grown thats why they all think im crazy

Not at all, we know the sizes but juvenile size is not what matters, it is adult size. Big fish grow quickly in the first 6-12 months. Example - my Gibbiceps went from 2" -10" in about 9 months.

Your current stock will have outgrown the 240l in about 4 months (even after the rehomings).

Your planned stock will not work for many reasons - not just size.

Also, the question was asked above, do you have the 450l yet? is it ordered (as in paid for and waiting to be delivered)? or is it something you are hoping to own at some time in the future.

Unless you actually have the big tank it is pointless planning stock, you need to concentrate on the tank you do have first. Get that sorted THEN start some serious proper research, which involves listening and learning from people who actually keep the fish you are considering.

People will still think your crazy, when you buy a fish you should think about the size it gets fully grown, not the size it is when you buy it.

So in the 240 there are:
Blue Acaras x 3 (Fully grown 7" each = 21")
Krib x 1 (Fully grown 4")
Bala Sharks x 2 (12" at least = 2ft!!! ) -- These MUST be rehomed with the other fish, there is no way around it
Zebra Danio x 1 (will be absolutely fine in your tank but should be in a shoal of at least 5)
Cory Cats x 6 (Great group size and are perfect in a tank your size)
Clown Loach x 1 (12"+ and should be kept in group) -- This lil guy MUST be rehomed also. Eventually it will grow far too big and it's unfair to keep it alone
Zig Zag Eel x 1 (20" ) ---As said REHOME, unless you actually have bought/ordered/own the 450l already
Peacock Eel x 1 ( 11" , you could possibly get away with this fish in the 240 but would then have to remove the corys, danios, mollys etc etc otherwise as it grew they would be eaten)
Mollies x 5 ( 2" each = 20") --They are fine in this size tank. Just not with those fish.

You NEED to rehome:
Both Bala Sharks
Clown Loach
Zig Zag Eel (Unless you own the 450 already)

I would also Rehome:
1 Blue acara
Peacock Eel (unless you own the 450 already)

To leave you with:
2 Blue Acaras
1 Krib
1 Zebra Danio
6 Corys
5 Mollies

Then work from there...
