What Fish Is This

Just poped into a LFS on the way home and saw a fish I really liked the look of but couldn't see a name.

Thats as best as I could draw I'm afraid, he kept swimming back and forth at the very to of the tank, about 7" long. Can any one name him #?

Was the fish black with a white tail? If so its a Black ghost knife fish http/www.fishforums.net/index.php?showtopic=50349 .

Nope thants not him, he had shiny silver scales with his tail being a very light grey/white. He was in a tank with angles (i think) ...

That looks like a very well drawn Silver Arowana. Come on CFC couldnt you tell that from the pic
Get around 3ft long and needs lots of space

The mouth is what sent me in the knife fish direction, arowanas have mouths which are turned upwards.

Yes i agree the mouth and round nose does "look" like BGK but some thing says Arowana to me

Thanks guys, I guess putting this fsh in a 66 Gal (US) is right out of the question. Shame as I really liked watching him. He must be unhappy being kept in the 3ft tank at the shop then

Unfortunately your correct that your tank would be too small, stick a 0 on the end and your in the right area

they are not aggressive towards other fish unless they are of course very small and therefore will be a nice tasty snack
