I was sold this fish by someone in P@H who didn't seem to really know what is was, but they charged me for a congo tetra lol

It is very small, around 1 inch, might be a congo tetra but i googled it and i dont think so, it has very short and very fine barbules on the side of it's mouth like a catfish but you cant see them in the pics, it is a very hard fish to photograph on account of it flicking all over the place and being quite shy and hiding a lot but i've tried my best so without further ado ... what is v THAT? v please?

Looks like a golden barb to me.

just googled that, i think you're right! thank you!

yet mine looks much cooler than any of the ones on google images ... do they usually have the full stripe?

no wonder it doesn;t shoal with the other tetras lol

Looked like a female cherry barb to me.....

dagnammit! now i think you're right! lol

it has the colour of the golden barb but the markings of the cherry barb, god now im lost, i'll just settle for it being a barb i think lol

my ruby/rainbow shark is giving it a really hard time chasing it all over the place

It could possibly be. I haven't kept barbs in years so someone else might confirm for you. Regardless, it defo a barb. You might want to take it back and trade it in for something else, cause she/he will have nothing to shoal with.

could do, or could get a few more of them and sell my ruby shark cos he is getting to be a pain in the **** lol ... :) they wont take up much room

If i was you i would sell the shark back (if you can) because in my general experience they are either mean, boisterous, grow too large or a combination of the three - but thats just me.

Nice to know i wasn't just giving out useless info :). I once had an all female group (weird, right?) and if i remember correctly they are a great little fish, quite passive.

I think that's the way forward too, problem is, he is just so flipping cool! a real character!

might just get another tank .... <:D

They are lovely given the right conditions  but i think they ideally need the tank to be built around their requirements, limiting choices a fair bit.

yep :)

i's not finished yet but here it is, the fish swim in and out of vaders eyes like a cave
