When you get to the point where you have as many tanks as some of us have, you're just looking for a spot to put one more. It doesn't matter if it's by the computer or on top of the TV as long as you can fit one more tank in there.
Thats so true

I was worried about spills at first. I avoided putting any tanks on the computer desk for the longest time But then I NEEDED another and didn't have anywhere to put it. And I have never had any leak or spill trouble when the tank is on the dresser... :D

I don't put any tanks DIRRECTLY above the computer, just in case.

If my 10g gets a leak I am not worried about the equipment...there is enough paper littered all over the desk that none of the water will reach the comuter. :D

I am always worried about spills and such. When I had this kitten (she is now an outside kitty), I would come home and my two tanks (I had two one gals on my desk in place of the split 2.5) would always be shifted around from her "playing with my fish". I obviously couldn't have that anymore. The night I came home with the split 2.5. one of the tanks had been knocked about and there was water every where. God was watching down because the water mysteriously went around my laptop and the wire, but went every where else. And the fish in the tank was still in the tank with the remaing couple inches of water. And yet, I still tempt the fates and keep tanks next to the laptop.

I don't have spills very often, and if I were to have one it would land on the carpet behind my computer rather than right on top of it... of course, if any of my tanks were ever to spring a leak and I didn't notice my computer would be toast. :/
