its a 566 us gallon tank which is 9ftx3ftx32inches

and it has a 200 us gallon sump so 766 us gallons in total

also im going with a 8000lph pump so 4x turnover

heres what ime gonna keep i think this is ok do you think it will be over stocked if not any other suggestions

1 x tiger oscar
1 x gibbi plecs
1 x spotted sev
10 x silver dollars
1 x lima shoval nose
1 x sun catfish
1 x silver arowna (illl get one when all the other fish are grown up)
1 x giant gourami
1 x fire eel
1 x ornate birchir
1 x clown knifefish

WOW :hyper: 9ft tank
that makes my 3ft look like a puddle!!!
there are some pros on here who will help you with stocking advice!!
sounds great to me but I am just a beginner ;)

Huh...sorry. but I don't see a stocking in your tank. Help me out here. Nylon or wool?

lol at the joke

thanks also

Stocking looks ok to me, but I would wait for someone who has more experience with those fish. They are bigger than your garden variety tropical fish, and big fish do not follow the inch per gallon rule.

holy crap!!! you sump is 70 gallons more than my aquarium!

but i personally would do something like that if i had a tank of that size but id have probably 2 or 3 oscars, but then id also post a very similar topic asking if it was ok, meaning i dont really know at all, but it sounds good to me lol.

nice. i'd stick to 6 silver dollars though. i hear they get huge with enough swimmin room. they'll probably look like piranhas :sly:

yeah they do get huge but a shoal of 10 will be insane to loook at

That is still quite a lot of fish in there when you think of how big they all are fully grown...

My main worry would be mixing some fast swimming fish like silver dollars etc with really slow moving fish (as a general rule... doesnt mean they cant move like the wind if they wanted to!) like the clown knife fish or the arrowana... so long as they all get to food... but they do all have different feeding requirements too...

silver dollars need a lot of vegetarian whereas you trying feeding that to your clown knife and he will say '#128###? im not a #41#### rabbit!', it wont do the silver dollars any favours to have a diet too high in protein if they are stealing food...

Going to be a stunning tank! I want photos!!!!

yeah ill have pics up when its all setup although apparenntly its in this months pfk as a marine tank that the previouse owner had

also im gonna try to target feed most of the fish like lettuce and stuff ill add so the silver dollars and giant gourami and pleco

can just eat it away

but the meaty foods eg prawns and stuff im gonna try to target feed

also heres a list of foods im gonna feed caan some label them and say how many how often to who if they have time as i have no clue

eg shrimp 2 x a week to arowana
1 x a week to ghost knife that kinda thing

ive came up with these for food items

ciclid pellets floating and sinkng (for ciclids and arowana and who ever like them)
alge wafers (for the silver dollars and plecs probs the gourami)
flake for whoever wants some
lettuce (for the gourami plec and silver dollars)
prawn(for al the meat eaters like the lima shovel nose arowana and knife fish)
de shelled peas (a few in each week to avoid constipation)
lance fish for the predators aswell
cucumber(for the plec ,gouramii and silver dollars)
spinage (for the plec , gourami and silver dollars)

then

grapes (for the gourami)
baby tomatoes (for the gourami)
apple slices (for the gourami)
banana slices (for the gourami)

why??

the goourami can only get to 2ft.6 so will easily turn

and the arrowanas recomended size is 3ft im sure

Although giant gouramis are 'only' 2ft, they're still very bulky fish and 1ft turning space isn't huge.

Silver aros grow to about 3ft long, although they're flexible, having watched CFCs at nearly full size in a 6ft wide tank, 3ft wide doesn't exactly cut the mustard.
