What do you think is the minimum tank size?

Heaters are pretty expensive. So I was thinking about doing a non-goldfish coldwater. What is the smallest I can put a small school of WCMM and a hillstream loach into?

for a school of 8 wcmm and a hillstream then a 10 gallon would be good.

Thats fine then. I've finally found somewhere that does 10's (well, they're about 12 US, but the dimensions work better for me then 24x12x12), so I'll add a few WC's accordingly.
