What Do You Do With Dead Fish?

Because you could contaminate local waterways with disease, which could effect local wildlife/fish. Plus its not a nice thing to do.

Thats rubbish! Where do you think your poop goes - straight into the local waterways? Everything that is flushed goes to the sewage plant and is made safe - and thats where your flushed fish will go too!

Think about it :p.

Of course she knows poop goes down the loo too :).

But tropical fish are shipped from all over the world, and often carry different diseases/parasites from those found here. Just because the fish is dead, doesn't mean the disease that killed it is. Even a fish that didn't die from a disease could easily still carry something.

Just look at the crayfish plague, or that virus grey squirrels carry. It doesn't effect the non-native animals because it has a resistance to it, but our native ones don't.

woah its not bull white spot can live in cold water wich then local river/resivoir fish could get as it could easily pass through the filter

Somebody's very aggressive today... No need for the bad attitude.

Personally I wouldn't flush a fish, why would you? You wouldn't flush a hamster (although it would probably do a good job of cleaning the U bend). Fish pathogens are water bourne (well duh), it's feasible for them to spread to the waterways. Unlikely, maybe, but there's a definite non-zero probability.

lol soz guys im just to tird and i dont know wat im doing atm really im drunk sorrygh for any inconviniancejend

wow apparently you start typing weird when you mention drunk this means the word drunk triggers you to be 3 times as drunk

I always flush mine, have done for about 1.5 years, and have had my fair share of deaths, with approx 50+ deceased, apart from the disease spread(which would get killed at the water treatment centre) i dont see it as cruel for the fish..

although, if a big fish or one that was very dear to me died(my green spotted puffer for example), then i would more than likely have a burial ceremony, plaque and all.

Adam.
