What Catfish Did I Buy

I'd say very easy to care for as such a robust fish but you'll need plenty of space

is there anyhting special they need or is good to give them in there diet and things

i really like him and am looking forward to him growing and getting him his own tank

can they be tame lyk some redtails

ive seen some retails on youtube and stuff cumming to the surface and the owner playing with them

he'd come to top with his big mouth and take prawns pellts etc and he loved eating his tank mates!!

What tank mates did he eat

Can anyone advise me on how big my other fish can grow

common pleco
silver shark
ruby shark
african rope/reed fish
pictus catfish

the clarius is another name for the catfish.

look, il spell it out.

the catfish will eat everything there as it grows. you either get rid of it now, (while it is samller and easier to sell) or face a single fish tank with just him. plus, the common plec will get too big for the 120l tank and tbh so will most of the other fish. the silver/bala shark will get to 25cms.

no i understand that hes going to eat like everything but he cant do that till he is bigger and what i wanted to know was how long they take to become fully grown

with the right amount of space and correct feeding they can reach about 20cms in around a year from new born. so if yours is already 10cms you havent got long.

yes it will not take long to grow mate you will be outstanded with the results, They will more than likely start munching pretty much anything smaller than them,

he seems to be settleing in fine
part from he noses arond in the gravel and usually sends the clams to the other side of the tank
