you forgot to add "jewel cichlid" to that list. they're riverine African and so should be ok with a CA cichlid. (they're also pretty vicious)

i've had convicts, as long as their not breeding, they can live with the cichilds listed above, mine killed a parrot cichlid 3 times its size when it was breeding!
