Can someone confirm if these are good for snails, please?
A list of vegetables I have or can have available:
Cabbage
Cucumber
Salad (but they just run away from it... so not working)
Carrots
Red or green apples.

I cannot provide them with the same food as the fish eat, simply because the fish will eat it before the snails even grab hold of them. Today one tried to take a tiny flake, and it got snatched away from him by my catfish. -.-

Those foods are all good, as long as the snails actually go for them. Out of prepared fish food, veggie pellets/tablets would be most appropriate as they are predominantly veggie and spirulina based, which is what the snails' staple diet should be made up of.

I have personally found courgette to be the best staple snail food, and that cucumber rots fast, while lettuce is not on their favourites list.

I need something big, as the hoplo will just eat anything bite-sized and run away with it.
I might try a cucumber roll tomorrow or some cabbage since those are huge enough. I cannot get courgette though, dad won't buy it. -.- What about cabbage or apples?

I feed mine green peas, but first I take off the outer shell, leaving just the soft interior. They seem to love it and go for it right away. I don't have to worry about fish competing for it anymore. The betta will attack the pea and run around with a big piece of it in his mouth for a while ... but eventually he loses interest and probably only eats a little bit of it.

I'll have to give the zucchini a try, though!

Although mine are not really pea fans, I want to try something bigger than my hoplo's mouth, so that includes either apple or cucumber rolls, so that he can't eat it and leave for snails.

I normally cook sliced baby marrows for my BN's. At the weekend, I decided to chuck some of it in my Apple snail tank and they loved it..... skin and all.... about six large pieces was put in the tank and the next morning, there was not even a trace of it left..... I'll feed it on a regular basis now.

I cannot get Zucchini unfortunately so that's out of the question, as my dad refused to take one even for my mom.
So will have to do with what I have around.

They were checking out the carrot roll, but Lorenzo doesn't seem too interested in it, he prefers to suck on the bogwood. -.-
Tomorrow I'll try cucumber.

Lol... different preferences...

Mine love just plain old algae tablets! Each of my fully grown ones get 1/2 a tablet every other day

Wouldn't the algae tablet get shredded to bits by the hoplo before the snails even get to it? He even stole the carrot roll for a while, then left it alone and the snail got back to it.

If like mw you had 400-500 full size apples it was cheaper too, i have done a few threads on how i made them :good:

Uh... I don't want to eat them. o_O They're too cute for that. I bet I'd just cry if one of them dies. I don't know what I find cute at them, their personalities, or that weird face they have that makes them look like bunnies...

eh lol who said anyrhing about eating the them? i used to breed apple snails in very large amounts and sell them. I went to great lengths to make sure mine were the best. I cooked them special cookies in the oven for the snails to eat :)
