You would have been better gettig a little glass tank from a chain or something. You can get ones with plastic lids for that (just have a lamp beside it as a light) and they can have a filter and a heater.

Sounds like the tank my neighbour baught an tried to set up with 2 medium size goldfish the lfs told her it was pleanty bigenough,4 days later she had 2 sick stressed fish with ich.I told her to return the fish and take the tank back an tell them it was no use for the fish they had sold her. :sad:
 
I kind of figured that's what you meant... however that is better, but unfortunatley not better enough, all of the comments are equally valid.
 
in my opinion, a betta can live in there, happily, as long as the water temperature stays constant and at 73-75F.

My betta lived in a 1 gallon for over two years. and he was very active. Now i have one in a 2 gallon and one in a 2.5 gallon, and they are fine. As long as you do regular water changes, it is quit possible for your betta to thrive.
