What breather bags should i get for shipping fish?

Can't use Canadian services sense I'm not in Canada 😅
But I do understand making it cheap and that's what I'm attempting to do.

12 but keeping one so 11

That's the plan. I will also try to give the option to the customer to do overnight if possible.

I would do that but it may be really really expensive for me and the customer, but I could have it as an option.
Fish can survive (IN BREATHER BAGS) for up to 7 days in shipping. But I definitely don't want them in there for that long. Four days at most, three days is what I want, and any less would be amazing.

Impossible to do unless I'm shipping it myself 😅.
Don't know what shipping service you have but I want it 🤣
How big are these guys? The last photo I saw they still looked like fry.

For boxes, you can line cardboard boxes with 1-2 inch thick polystyrene foam. Just buy a sheet and use a sharp fine bladed knife (or hot wire) to slice through the foam and cut it to fit the box. If you choose boxes that hold 1 or 2 bags and have a little space around them, you could line the box and the bag would be snug inside.

Most pet shops have spare foam eskies out the back that they get fish in. You can ask if they have a few you could have. Some sell them for a couple of dollars, others give them away for free.

If you get eskies from a pet shop, remove any labels and tapes so the customer doesn't think they are buying fish from a pet shop.

Most fish sold are bagged with water and air and survive being shipped. Just putting it out there in case you can't find breather bags or you find the freight is hideously expensive.

The service we have in New Zealand is that the supplier packs the fish in the afternoon, they then travel overnight to anywhere in New Zealand and then are delivered before lunch.

Just remember all the cost is in the water, the less water you have the cheaper it is, most small fish will travel ten to a bag with less than a liter of water.

Crossing NZ is what, 200 km, and 1200 north south? In Canada or the US, crossing runs about 5000 km. The comparison doesn't work, though I wish we could ship that quickly.

Pretty sure Canada and the USA are similar in size (from east to west) to Australia and it's about 3000km from the east to west coast of Aus.

Australia Post does an express delivery that guarantees arrival within 24 hours so it can be done. Most couriers also do it too and we have a number of pet shops in Perth (on the west coast) that send fish to customers around the country and the fish get there the day after they are sent (within 24 hours). We used to get shipments of fish from the east coast and they would send them in the morning and we usually got them in the afternoon, or the morning on the following day.

You just need to ring around and find a company that does 24 hour express delivery, and will take livestock (some won't). And make sure they do deliveries on Monday or Tuesday so the fish don't end up in a warehouse over the weekend.

Maybe then you shouldn't consider shipping all the way across the States and just ship to the couple of States that are near where you live.

I ordered my clown killis online. Shipping was 10 bucks I think. They shipped with Priority Mail. Got here in 4 days.
They were shipped double bagged in a regular plastic bag(like what you get from the fish store) inside a styrofoam box inside a cardboard box. All arrived super healthy.

That works well within a network of hobbyists. Within any ad type system, it creates serious complications. I don't sell to the USA because of the permits and regulations at their border, but that hasn't stopped a few people from pretty well demanding that I smuggle. I've been accused of making up the import fees Americans face, and or being prejudiced against the US because I don't sell to there.
I seem to be an enormously powerful person. I apparently run US Customs. Cool, I think.
I gave up.
I only ship to friends, and only in trades now.

I wish Rocky well as he walks into the rat's nest.

I will only sell and buy fish from mates, there are too many people with the wrong expectations about fish out there.

Their getting larger fast and I need to get supplies ready. Their just under half an inch I believe...

Yup. I plan to do a bit of water. Maybe 1/3rd of the bag full and the rest air.

How do I do that on ebay? I don't want someone purchasing in California and then me being like: "Uhhh I can't ship out there dude, sorry".
How do I set a boundary?

That's cheap! I wonder how they made it that cheap...

Not really sure...

Yah but then there will be that one boneyard that orders it without reading the description.
Maybe I can ship to wherever in the states but list the states that are covered for DOA insurance.
Is that good?
