Not doing tonight as I have wings already thawed that I need to use. Will be BBQ that requires a wet towel to eat if you want to do anything else with your hands. :) May actually do this a bit off as I'd normally add fries but think the side is going to be pineapple and cottage cheese... May even throw in some frozen peas.

So what is it that I'm not doing tonight? A new item, for me, from Omaha Steaks. I guess I'll find out how well they smoke pork. I got, on today's delivery, four 12 ounce bone in smoked pork chops. Hard to do in an apartment but I LOVE smoked. ;)

there is always the liquid smoke when there is no option. watched one cook show that said the liquid smoke ingredients should be Just Water & Smoke, might know what I bought has words I can't pronounce.
I always liked peaches with my cottage cheese.

Don't have any right now but often use liquid smoke. The pure and best version is just water infused with smoke. Not exactly the same as really smoking but does OK. ;) The 'good stuff' works decent but is a bit pricey.

I may have some ancient liquid smoke but don't remember what I got it for. Does it go bad? If so, mine should have been trashed some time ago. Maybe it was...

My parents did cottage cheese & fruit, but I prefer mine more savory. Straight up, as a cracker topping or pretend enchilada/lasagna casserole, etc.

We had hard shell tacos w/gr. beef & black beans tonight. Always good with minimal cooking on my part & husband helps too.

I really like cottage cheese anyway you can mix it with anything. I mix it in with scrambled eggs too and it's great with cut up cucumbers. to me it has better flavor when at room temperature and a lot of black pepper.

We're having my family's version of beef stroganoff on brown rice instead of noodles. Not like "real" in many ways but we like it. We hadn't had it in a good while. I did large-ish slices of mushrooms so my "shroom hater" doesn't pollute his food but I get some too. A compromise, as are many of our meals

I cooked a fresh 5 oz filet mignon on the outdoor grill today. It was 25 degrees out but not too much snow on the ground. Cooked the filet to medium doneness. I had a side of broccoli and some baked beans. Mm mm mm

No potatoes, Fishmanic? Baked beans & steak? A new idea I'm not ready to embrace just yet...

I never minded putting on high boots to shovel my way to the snowy grill. Thunder & lightning or pouring down rain, meh, not so much.

I went 3 and a half hours outside and recovered access to civilization, after plowing, what 8 inch of snow. That resulted in a complete cover up to near the top of my car, with the wind.

I made a gargantuan Mac-And-Cheese to prevent me suffering to much ptsd from this trauma.

My son’s friend founded a startup company that turns insects, mostly crickets, into food products. I tried a cricket candy bar last night. It was hopping good.
Stuff like that really bugs me.
