What Are These White Things Growing On Underside Of Lr?

i described them to someone and they told me they are beneficial to the tank..he said they are filter feeders and their growth signifies good water quality..hopefully he was right! they are growing EVERYWHERE, every live rock has them in mass amounts, they are very small white tubes with crowns on the end and dont seem to move much at all, they only grow on the underside of the rocks where there is no light..you can see them in the middle of this picture:

Yeah they're good filter feeders, I've got some in the benthic zones of my tank too, not as many as you though since my wrasses tend to nibble on them :lol:
 
I have those all over. They grow in my filter and grow on my powerheads, and there are some in the holes in my L.R. I'm not sure there the same as yours but they look like fat fly larvae, that have a tiny hole as there head and dont move. :sick:
 
i dont know if they are related but i have things that look like feather duster stalks but do not and never had the feathered mouth. the do however spit a spider web type stuff when they are disturbed or when im feeding.
