As I'm quietly sleeping my hubby wakes me up at 2am this morning after coming home, with a new bundle of joy(well it was rather crying because it was so scared). So i sat up holding the lil' angel to keep it warm but it still kept whimpering. I introduced it to Marc our senior cat and the kitten calmed down quickly. My hubby ryan saw him wandering the parking lot near a vacant field by our apartment building when he drove in. The kitten looks between the age of 7-8 weeks so he's quiet small. He's fed around every 4 hrs and slept with me(found him sleeping on my head this morning) and ryan under the covers last night with Marc sleeping at our feet. Marc is abit confused and distant when it comes to the kitten, but still willingly allows the kitten to eat from his food dish and occasionally attack his tail, which the kitten seems to be most fond of. Poor old Marc lol.

So i guess we'll probably end up keeping the lil punk, went and bought all the supplies today for him. He's eating well but hasn't been thirsty(even bought him goats milk) and hasn't gone to the bathroom yet even when i tried to stimulate it. That has me abit worried. No name yet, I'm actually still guessing at the sex, but time will tell! Just had to show you our valentines day surprise! Cheers everyone.

oooo what a cutie !

You should probably notify any shelters etc. in the vacinity of a few miles - just in case someone lost their new kitten. For a kitten to be that hand tame, it would have grown up in someones house and is almost certainly missed a lot by someone out there.....

Good luck either way

If you plan on keeping him make sure to get him neutered/castrated, he's very cute though :hyper:  ! Might be worth taking him to a vet if you keep him for a health check up just to make sure he is healthy and doesn't have anything like worms  .

Beautiful little kitten

But i agree with bloozoo - He looks far to friendly to be a stray. I'd ring round the local vets and shelters as he may have been reported as lost and if noone claims him, i guess he's yours :D

Hi snowyangel :)

What a darling he is!

I wouldn't bother looking for a previous owner. IMHO, anyone who would let a little baby like him prowl around outside doesn't deserve to have it. He'll be much better off with your loving care. :D

I just cant understand people letting Kittens of that age out on a night  .Mia was the same she turned up at 11pm and it was a right storm outside and she was friendly so she hadnt been out long.Nobody ever claimed her either even though we put adverts up in every shop and the vets

Congrats to snowyangel on her new pet.

Inchworm, I agree. No cat should be outside. I have taken in many dogs and cats. If there's no tag and they're roaming the streets, then they are not being taken care of and deserve a better home. Plus, too many pets have been run down in my neighborhood with idiots in big trucks just anxious to do it.

My God whats wrong with you people?! It is entirely possible that the little kitten may have escaped or got lost, maybe when it was in the garden playing (we used to take opur kittens into the garden to play when the weather was nice). Just because its young and lost doesn't make the owners irresponsible. Maybe they had young children and one accidentally let it out? There could be a hundred reasons why it was out, of course you need to try and find the owners...

I hope none of my animals ever get lost now!! -_-

It's adorable, i would report it some one might be missing it, if not it yours bless it, as it looks in good shape.

I'm with Jessica on this one. It's entirely feasible that the kitten was in a house where kids were playing - they left the door open - kitten ran out and went missing. Kids now heartbroken and very upset.
Exactly this happened with my cat (the one in the avatar) when he was a kitten. I had kids visiting. I turned my back for a second - they dashed to play outside and kitten was gone in the blink of an eye. I searched high and low but no kitten. I then started phoning round police, shelters, vet - still nothing. The kids were mortified and helped me look too. No luck.

After a week I started making flyers and the kids came with me to take them to people's doors to hand deliver. Only to find my kitten with a little old lady ! Said she found him, but thought it's in his best interest to keep him for herself. She was in fact very reluctant to give him back to me - and only did so when she realised I wasn't going anywhere and had his picture printed on the flyer....needless to say I was fuming.

That kitten looks in great condition, well fed with a glossy coat and very hand tame. It's from someone's home that's for sure.

To me, it would be akin to stealing if I didn't at least report it found to all shelters within a couple of miles radius and did what I could to trace it's owner :/ But hey, that's just me :)

Anyway, hope all works out well for everyone

Edit: and kittens should not really be wearing collars. Too often they get hooked on stuff and can choke to death. It's also to small yet for a microchip as well.
