Well I Got My Betta - But Not In The Cirumstances I Expected

Ok so it came whilst I was at work today. Can I just check, Bettas are top feeders aren't they? It's just he doesn't eat the food if it just sits on the surface but if I push it down so it floats around then he does. He seems to prefer the bottom half of the tank too?

Mine was like that.

I guess this means he's happy does it? It won't mean he's more likely to be agressive to newcomers will it?
