Today I updated my lighting, full topic about it here and added my CO2 back. What next?

Wow its been ages since I updated this journal, quite a lot has happened. The lights are now back to the stock T8's as I wanted to slow the plant growth down a bit and make life easier regarding maintenance and CO2 management. Following the unfortunate shutdown of my 2ft river tank I have now had to put the harlequins and red cherry shrimp in here. There's too many fish in here now for my liking but its only temporary and I've accommodated for them by adding extra filtration and more frequent water changes. Apart from that the fish are healthy and active, oh I've also got a opaline gourami who is growing up lovely too. Plants are nice and green with very little algae which is always good and I've put the wood in from the shutdown tank too which looks pretty cool. Anyway enough writing here's the photos!

I've been dosing liquid CO2 and ferts that I've mixed myself

Liquid carbon is always good to use so long as your plants are compatible. I used to use it until I put riccia in because I've heard it kills the riccia off. I've also stopped using liquid ferts and I've noticed less algae so I think I was adding too many nutrients. Its a very fine balance that can take time to achieve

Lol yeah she's getting big, just loves the algae wafers. And yep I love the jungle style, really dence, large plants. I think it looks more natural compared to other aquascapes. Plus its easy to make and maintain. Hope you enjoyed the photos

I love the Christmas moss too. I got a tiny bit mixed in with java moss and I like it so much better! Maybe someday I'll try to separate it out. (yeah, right.)

Haven't seen an update on your tanks in ages mate, this 1 is a cracker. Looks as good as ever. Have to say though, I did prefer it with the open top. Just a pity the t8's didn't look half as good open as your old lights did. Still... Awesome looking tank mate
