They arrived from Northants Malawis yesterday morning - They are all still babies but already seem to have great colour and seem very happy exploring!

I have:

3 x BN's
5 x Yellow Labs
5 x Pseudo Elong Mpanga
4 x Afra Hara

Here are some pictures:

Fish look lovely, but were no concerns raised about mixing two cichlids with similar colour markings, blue with black vertical stripes?

I did ask in a separate topic if they'd be ok and I got the go ahead (this was weeks ago) also asked a couple of forum members and the guy who runs northants and they all said they'll be fine.

Although Cichlids they're less aggressive than others. The hara should also be much paler than the Mpanga :)

Fair enough, I know very little about Rift Valley cichlids, but was vaguely aware of potential trouble by mixing species with similar colour patterns (especially between the males if there are not lots of females to divert their attention). Good luck with the fish, I expect you will be posting about fry within six months or so!:good:

Thanks all :)

I hope I get fry (for now, lol) as I'm not fully stocked yet, so be good to save cash, hehe!

I've been told between 20-30 fish by a few people, I currently have one ex1200 running and a 1600lph power head, but will be adding another ex1200 in new year.
